Merkur Slots has opened two new entertainment venues in London and Leigh on June 30, 2026. The expansion represents an £800,000 investment under the company’s broader £5 million UK development programme.
Site Locations and Features
The new facilities are located on Whitechapel Road in London and Bradshawgate in Leigh. Each site required a £400,000 build-out and will house updated digital slot machines alongside modern bingo gaming systems. The launch adds 20 local positions to the regional workforce. Dean Bibby serves as venue manager at the Leigh location.
Employment Impact
Mark Schertle, COO at Merkur Casino UK, stated: "Every new venue we open creates an average of 10 jobs and, over the past 12 months alone, we have supported more than 600 roles nationwide through new venue openings and continued investment in our existing locations."
