Glen Smith has served as Communications and CSR Co-ordinator at iGEN since early 2022, overseeing the association’s sustainability programs. The organization is preparing for its third annual corporate social responsibility event, scheduled for World Cleanup Day on September 17.
Career Background and iGEN Collaboration
Smith’s career in design and marketing spans London, Stockholm, and Malta, where he relocated in 2016 to join Betsson’s in-house agency. During his five-and-a-half-year tenure as head of concept development, he joined the iGEN core team to produce reputation management videos. He subsequently proposed and launched the whyigaming platform, a site designed to host the videos, promote iGaming careers in Malta, and aggregate job vacancies for member companies.Environmental Initiatives and Upcoming Events
Following his departure from Betsson in 2021, Smith established an independent creative consulting firm. In spring 2022, iGEN engaged him to manage communications and launch structured CSR activities for its members. His environmental focus originated in May 2020, when he founded Bahar ic Caghaq Cleanup to document and remove litter around his north coast village. The initiative has since expanded to include organized community clean-ups, with iGEN’s first major event taking place on Earth Day in April 2022. Recent local efforts have collected 28 bin bags of waste from the Bahar ic Caghaq area.Earlier collaborations between Smith and iGEN focused on digital reputation management and industry recruitment. The current CSR schedule continues the association’s annual commitment to local environmental maintenance.
